I’m Souki Belghiti, a visual artist, based in Morocco. I was born there, to a Moroccan father and a French mother.
After studying biology, I joined the Louis Lumière school, film section, from which I graduated in 2009.

My experience as a filmmaker feeds my curiosity for how different images types influence the possible narratives.

Often immersed in worlds that everything opposed, it is the urgency to reconcile apparent oppositions that founds my artistic practice.
Like a path towards that point where roses scent is no longer thorny.

I work with lens-based media, photography and video installations, arts of our time, «impure», at the confluence of all the others, aware of their use as propaganda tools.
On the contrary, I like to use them to make plural voices converse, and to work in layers to embody the evanescence of time.
For me art allows us to symbolically transmute our ancestral memories.
To be present again to the sensitive. Illuminating our shadows, only way toward the light.

My work has been shown in Morocco during festivals and in the USA.
